My name is
Kat Stahl, I am originally from Germany and currently living there. I am a teacher for German as a Foreign Language, teaching my mother-tongue to American college students in Berlin. In the past, I have been living in the U.S. for 7 years: for the most part studying and working in Grand Rapids, MI. In the past, I have been traveling the world teaching German but these past two years, I have come back to Germany to live closer to my aging parents.

His name is
Jon Ramer, he was born and raised in Big Rapids, MI, only a couple of miles away from Grand Rapids where we met in October of 2017 through mutual friends. Before we met, we both had been at a very low and difficult point in our lives, torn between the somehow limiting life we were living and the calling to greater things that we each felt inside of us. As soon as we met, we both were at a turning point in our lives and found in each other the answer to so many questions which had been haunting us for years.
Now we are both eager to chase what we believe God's calling is on our lives: paying forward the blessings we have received in our lives to other people - as a couple. However, many outside factors are making it very hard for us to be together and engage in what other people would consider a "normal" relationship. Therefore, we have to be creative in the way we are dating, we have to learn to be patient (something completely new to both of us!) and rely on God's blessings on our relationship and the support from friends and family. Along the way, we find ourselves facing many set-backs and curious laws, unforeseen pitfalls and hilarious surprises that come with an intercultural relationship, and the question of what love actually means to both of us. Many of our friends like to follow our story - and that is how the idea came about to start a blog...
